Vichy l’international
"The City of Vichy commissioned Galerie Mont-Blanc to make a copy of the portrait of Charles XV, King of Sweden and King of Norway under the name of Charles IV (1826-1872), as part of the "Vichy, l'internationale" exhibition (4 May - 11 November 2024).
The result lives up to our expectations. Placed in an antique frame, the portrait does not stand out from the authentic portraits placed nearby. The copyist was able to reproduce the lively expression of the face, without weakening or hardening it, as is sometimes the case with copies, even old copies, of works by masters. The rendering of the uniform is impeccable, and the touch is smooth, as if it were an old painting. This copy will be a worthy addition to the collections of the future Vichy museum. We can only express our thanks and congratulations to Vincent Baile and his team for the quality of this copy and the speed with which it was produced.
